Translation of cosmetics specifications,2. 药品说明书的翻译,2.1 名称翻译 (Translation of Drug Names) 音译：按英文药品名的读音译成相同或相近的汉语。Eg.Tamoxitn它莫西芬。音译较为方便，但不能表意。 意译：按药品名称所表达的含义译成相应的汉语
10、。Eg. cholic Acid 胆酸，Tetracycline 四环素 也可按其药理作用翻译: Uraly消石素（治疗尿路结石药物） 音意合译：药品名称中的一部分采用音译，另一部分采用意译.Eg. Coumadin香豆定（coumarin香豆素），Neo-Octin新握克丁（neo-新）Medemycin麦迪霉素（mycin 霉素）. 谐音译意：以音译为原则，选用谐音的汉字，既表音，又表意，音意结合。 Eg. Webilin胃必灵.,2. Translation of drug specifications,2.2 药品说明书正文的语言特点及翻译 被动语态在药品说明书中的应用 因药品说明书着
11、重强调客观事实所以英文药品说明书中常用第三人称的被动语态。 In severe infections, it is recommended that children be given no less than 300 mg/day regardless of body weight. 在严重感染时, 建议对儿童不管其体重如何每日投药不少于300毫克。 In such instances, it is recommended that the dosage be reduced at night. 此种情况下, 建议夜间酌减剂量。 药品说明书中的时态 药品说明书主要是说明药品的性状、药理作用、
12、适应症、用法剂量、注意事项等。所以一般情况下用一般现在时或现在完成时。Absorption following intramuscular injection is rapid, blood levels being maintained for 4 hours with a peak after one hour. 肌肉注射后吸收迅速, 血药浓度可维持四个小时, 并于注射后一小时达到高峰。,2. Translation of drug specifications, 情态动词在药品说明书中的应用 在药品说明书中, 要叙述用药时一些可能出现的问题以及为避免引起副作用所采取的措施, 其内容涉及药
13、物单用或合并应用的注意点及其优、缺点; 对调配、给药、保管的有关事宜, 常使用表示应该(should)、必须(must)、可以 (may)、能够(can) 等情态动词。 Therapy should be initiated with a low dose, since sudden loss of consciousness which may last from 30290 minutes has occurred in a small number of patients after an initial dose of 2mg. 应该从低剂量开始治疗。因为初始服用2 毫克的剂量后, 少
14、数病人曾突然出现知觉丧失, 时间可持续30 到90 分钟。祈使句：药品说明书中也常用祈使句。 Store away from light in a cool place after dissolving a tablet. 溶解药片后, 配制的溶液应置于阴凉, 避光处保存。,2.Translation of drug specifications,词意转换 药品说明书中的有些词汇, 有其专门的意思:Liver肝脏, drug, 麻醉药; antibiotics抗生素. 但有不少词汇既用于普通英语又有专业释义。译时, 必须扣紧上下文关系, 选择药品说明书正确的释义。 This substance
15、 has a powerful effect on poor health and poor appetite. poor释义较多, 常可译作“贫穷”“智力低下”而此句中则可译为 “虚弱”和“不振”poor health 和poor appetite 可分别译为“身体虚弱”和“食欲不振”, 译为： 这种药物对身体虚弱和食欲不振者有特效”.The preparation is indicated whenever tension, fear or depression occurs. 一般情况下preparation是“准备”的意识, 而在此句中可译作“制剂”, 此句可译为“本制剂适用于任何时候
16、出现的精神紧张、恐惧或沮丧等症状。,2. Translation of drug specifications,缩写词的应用频繁 在药品说明书中英文的缩写词应用比较频繁。 ABPC 是aspirin 缩写, 意思是氨苄青霉素 IU = international unit 国际单位; kg = kilogram 千克; g= gram 克;mg = milligram 毫克;m cg= microgram 微克;L = liter 升;m l= milliliter 毫升 运用构词法知识 医药行业有许多词新词字典上查不到, 这需要用构词法知识把词分解, 首先充分了 解词中各部分的含义, 然后确
17、定某词义。 Bronkolaxisol is an effective drug. 其中 “bronkolaxisol”在字典上很难查到, 可是“bronko“= ”brocho”表“支气管”,“lax”表示 “松驰”,“sol”表示“溶液”故“bronkolaxisol”一词可译为“支气管松驰液”, 此句就可译为“支气管松驰液是一种有效的药物。”,3. 包装说明的翻译,对于英文包装用语中的祈使句，省略句或to be 短语，一般翻译成中文的四字结构 3.1 请把以下短语翻译成四字结构 Keep away from heat No dumpingProtect against cold With
