4、 listening skills and writing skills. They lack the interests to study. So we should change the teaching method and promote the efficiency of English teaching.I hope to find a new way to teach English, which is different from the traditional way. There are many principles for English teaching in mid

5、dle schools. Here, I want to introduce four principles that I think can help students get pleasure from the English studying.I think English teaching is a big problem, we should go on studying it and try to do some things, and it is a long way for us to go.Methodologically, four methods are used, an

9、nglish for Grade Two, using the textbook by the People Education Press, the name is” Go for it”.The students that I teach English have learned for two years, they know a few words and expressions, but they can not understand the grammar, have few listening skills and writing skills. They lack the in

10、terests to study.So when I teach them English, I pay much attention to their pronunciation and listening, encourage them to write some short passengers, help them understand some simple grammar and tell them how to use it.2. ProblemAs I am working, I find out many problems. The most one is how to im

11、prove the efficiency of English teaching. For a long time, in English class, the teachers teach grammar and the students take some notes. Students have no chance to say something and listen to something. The result is that students know some grammar rulers, but they don not know how to use them,and

12、they can not use them to speak and write. That is inefficient. So we should change the teaching method and promote the efficiency of English teachingWith the continual reform of language teaching methods, some teaching principles are changed all the time. But here, I want to discuss four static prin

13、ciples which are required to follow through the whole teaching and learning process with all my readers. They are teaching English in English, Thinking English in English, Using Chinese properly in English teaching and Reciting followed by other practices. 3. Problem Analysis Why is English teaching

14、 inefficient? The reasons are complex. The most important one is English classes are boring; it can not interest the students. Many students think English is the most difficult subject, they spend so much time studying English, but the results are unexpected. The second reason comes from the teacher

15、s. They spend much time on grammar, but they pay little attention to the listening, writing and pronunciation. The result is the students know some grammar rules, but they have little ability to speak, listen and write.The third reason is locking activities. In English classes, students spend much t

16、ime listening to the teachers and taking notes. They have few activities. No activities, no chance to exchange, no chance to listen, speak and write.In one word, because of the simple English teaching method, English teaching is inefficient. This is a big problem, we should find out a good way to so

17、lve it.4. Project Objectives My view point is we should change the English teaching method; find out a new kind of English class shape. This shape can help students to master grammar; have chance to practice listening, speaking and writing. Teachers and students can study together, the students can

18、get some delight from the class, and they can do some pair work or games, not only improve students interest, but also improve students ability.Many students are forced to learn ,I want to find a new kind of English class shape to make students learn by themselves, they would like to study English w

19、ithout force and feel that English studying is an interesting thing and have the willing to learn English well.5. Project Hypothesis.I hope to find a new way to teach English that is different from the traditional way. In my class, students not only study grammar, but also practice listening, speaki

20、ng and writing. They would feel it is interesting to study English.Students have enough time to communicate with their partners. By doing like this, they can speak and listen to other students speaking English .Then they would know English is a kind of language; it can be used to communicate with ot

21、hers. In this course, they would practice grammar, listening, speaking together.Students would have some time to write some things. This helps them remember some new words and how to use them.All in all, I want to find a way that can help students study English freely and easily. That make them feel

22、 relaxed and they realized that studying English is interesting.6. Project Rationale.Senior students who come to the middle school are not applicable to the present teaching situation. Other wise, they will lose hearts. So the senior English teaching methods are quite different from the junior ones.

23、Personally, I think that when we do some teaching we should care about the macrostructure understanding. In fact, we can every positive factor into the teaching activities. In this way, they will participate in classroom activities actively. As English teachers, we should try our best to create frie

24、ndly atmosphere in order to improve the students interests.Education is not an end, but it means to an end. In other words, we do not educate children only for the purpose of educating them; our purposeIs it fit them for life. As soon as we realized the fact. We will understand that it important to

25、choose a good way of education which will really prepare children for life. In many modern countries it has for some time been fashionable to think that, by free education for all-whether rich or poor, clever or stupid-one can solve all the problems of society and build a perfect nation. But we can

26、already see that free education for all is not enough:We find in such countries a far larger number of people with university degrees than there are jobs for them to fill. Because of their degree, they refused to do what they think low work; and in fact, work with hands is thought to be dirty and sh

27、ameful in this time. But we have to understand that the work of a completely uneducated farmer is more important than that of a professor in a way: We can live without education, but we die if we have no food. If no one cleaned our streets and took the rubbish away from our houses, we should get ter

28、rible diseases in our towns. In countries where there are no servants because nobody is willing to do such work, the professors have to waste much of their time doing housework. In fact, when we say that all of us must be educated to fit us for life, it means that we must be educated in such a way t

29、hat firstly, each of us can do whatever job is suited to his brain and ability, and secondly, that we can realize that all jobs are necessary to society, and that it is very bad to be unwilling to do ones work, or to laugh at someone else sonly such a tape of education can be called valuable to soci

30、ety. So English teaching is not only teaching students English, but also thoughts, teach students how to study. We should have an interesting principle for English teaching that can interest students. There are many principles for English teaching in middle schools. Here, I want to introduce four pr

31、inciples that I think can help students get pleasure from the English studying. With the continual reform of language teaching methods, some teaching principles are changed all the time. But I want to discuss four static principles which we required to follow through the whole teaching and learning

32、process.1. Teaching English in EnglishEnglish Teaching is a key part of the middle school education .In an English class, teaching in English not only includes teaching the lesson in English, but also includes an English teaching form. Now days, a common weak point of our English teaching is the sep

33、aration of the lessons content and the teaching form. Teachers are not trying to teach in English but in Chinese. There are many reasons. As we all know, language is used for communication. The communicated English means that teachers instruct the students and explain questions basically in English,

34、 and the students are also required to use English in class. Contemporarily, however, the students in the middle school can not speak very well, neither can they understand why they should use different tones in different time or situation, their vocabulary and expressive ability are limited too. Th

35、ese limitations made it difficult to realize teaching in English in the classes. This produces a vicious circle. It affects the learning interest and the sense of the language of the students. At the same time, it is not good for a teacher to improve his own ability. But how to change it ? We focus

36、on the practical use of English teaching methods. Try to use the words that the students have learnt before. Combine learning with review. Renew the words we are using to follow the teaching steps. Make special plans for English teaching.Teaching in English is a developing process from simplicity to

37、 complication, for example ,when you want the students to be quiet ,at first, you can say : Be quiet .After learning the word “stop”, you can say :Stop talking. As the students known the word “enough”, it can not be changed into “That is enough talking now.” Using English to teach English should be

38、hold on to the last. There is one more point. We put emphasis on the importance of teaching in English; this does not mean that we can not use Chinese at all. We can use a little Chinese to conform we can be understood by the students.2. Using Chinese properly in English teachingEnglish is different

39、 from Chinese. When we teach it, we should try to help the students to form a new language using habit. But as languages of human beings, they have the same part when you are learning or using them. From the above, it can be inferred that the Chinese language plays an inseparable role in English lea

40、rning and teaching, people can not afford to imagine it. Hence the role of Chinese in teachers English teaching is worth careful examination.Think over the characteristics between Chinese and English when doing preparation work for teaching. The teacher should see the difference first, and then he c

41、an give a contrastive teaching. .About the learning methods. Students used to using their first language to formulate second language learning hypothesis. This causes a lot of learning and teaching problems to happen. We should try to get rid of such habit, and put emphasis on handling the contrast

42、between the two languages. Let it become a second nature. .When using the mother language, you should combine accuracy with appropriateness. .Treating translation with a scientific way. Middle school students need to do some translating practices. But practicing too much will also bad effects to tea

43、ching English in English and thinking in English principles.3. Reciting followed by other practices.In fact, Reciting followed by other practices is an effective teaching method. Reciting is a useful way to communication. Here we must mention the part of reading aloud. Reading aloud helps the studen

44、ts to get a correct pronunciation and intonation and to develop the combination of vocabularies, pronunciation, spelling and meaning. It also helps the students to find out the articles internal feelings and appreciate the beauty of the language. If we asked the students to write an article, they wo

45、uld probably be unable to feel discouraged. With the help of Choate they have recited, the situation will surely be changed.4. Do some activities or games in English class.Some activities or games can make the class interesting. This can interest students and make the students be interested in Engli

46、sh.A. Ask the students to close their books and listen to the recording carefully. We had better ask them to memorize more information about the passage. Then the students can be divided into three groups to judge which is right or wrong as quickly as possible.(1)In 1752 scientists already knew elec

47、tricity.(2)Franklin was helped by a flying kite to do the experiment.(3)Franklin made the kite of silk because wet silk does not conduct electricity.(4) A condenser was used in the experiment to store electricity.(5)The key tied to the ring was put into the door to stop the kite fromflying away.(6)

48、Benjamin Franklin did this experiment with the kite because he wanted to let his son happy.(7) It is better to make the kite of silk than of paper.(8)Franklins experiment was very dangerous, because if something was wrong, he could be killed by the lightning.This method is very effective.
