、on the wrap gun?GS2B 3-5,USE OF TOOLS,The solution for NSA 935401-04 Look up NSA 935401-04 in the NSA index It refers to 20-33-44 Then scroll thru to page 4-a tie wrap and its length is 150 mmIt can have a bundle size of 30mm max.Now go down to paragraph“C”procedures and standard installation and it

、 refers to 20-25-51 for the wrapping tool. The chart gives us the tool GS2B black,Legrand P46,Thomas and Betts orInsulok mark IV The setting for the tension is set to intermediate 3-5.,USE OF TOOLS,What is NSA 8420 and what is it used for?Lacing tape,Page 20-33-44 page 14 refers.,USE OF TOOLS,Square

、Knot,Clove Hitch,Bundles should be tied together using a clove hitchClove hitch then secured with two(2)square knotsTypically tied every 3 to 4 inches(10 cm),SOLDER SLEEVES,Solder sleeve shrinkable tubing assembly having an integral solder preformPrimarily used to attach a ground wire to the braid o

、ating processSlight discoloration is acceptable, but burning or splitting is unacceptable,ESPM EXERCISES,Question; What is the difference between a bundle and a harness?,A bundle is made up of many harnesses.,ESPM EXERCISES,Question; Why must we have redundancy in the wiring?,So that no single failure

、could damage all the systems.,ESPM EXERCISES,A wire has the identification number TK 20 FR A 05 stamped on it.What is the stripping tool P/N that will be needed?Select stripping tool in the index. This will refer to 20-25-12 page 3 refers for 20 gauge.P/N is 45-1773 red handle.ASN E 0261 CF 24 U FRF0

、4.What does the U mean?Laser printable. Why are BF wires not printable? They are too small and flexible.,ESPM EXERCISES,How would you locate a sensitive wire in an aircraft?Pink identifiers and it would be in“S”route. What does“S”route mean?Sensitive circuits.,ESPM EXERCISES,P/N of a protective sleeves

、 used in wire repairs?First go to wire repair. This sends you to 20-53-21.Go down to page 14 item B.On pages 15 and 16 the tables give the P/N according to the temperature region used and the wire gauge.,ESPM EXERCISES,What is the P/N of end caps used for electrical wiring?20-42-13 gives P/N NSA93660

、1 for the crimp type. The solder sleeve type is ASNE0160 listed in 20-40-00.We can now go to 20-42-13 page 8 for the shrinking procedure and page 9 lists the tool to use as CV1981.We could have also found out this tool by coming in from a different approach. In the table of contents go to tools lookin

、g for shrinking tools on 20-25-31.This lists hot air tool CV 1981 and new infrared type IR1759.,ESPM EXERCISES,What is the P/N of the separator(wire bundle)that is used between 2 groups of wires?Looking up separator takes us to 20-33-40 Page 1 Further reading now directs us to 20-33-41.Go to page 26

、 for drawing. Also note 90-degree rotation feature for ABS0731.Selecting separators takes you first to 20-33-41 page 29 where it says that the use of spacers in sensitive wiring is not allowed. This statement is wrong.(under revision)There is a supply of these in tool kit.,ESPM EXERCISES,A CF-20 wire

、is damaged and how do we fix it?Go to CF in the alphabetical index and this takes us to 23-53-20.Scroll to page 3.Single strand 23-53-21.Grade damage as 1C.This means we can splice and sleeve it as per 20-53-21 page 18.Use splice RA 2322 or RK 2220.However splices RA and RK are“no stock”.What is equ

、ivalence?Next table on page 18 shows we can use a NSA936809RG0001 splice as equivalence for this repair. Now we need to go to 20-25-22 crimping tools on page 25 for a NSA936809RG0001 splice.Tool is 46447 red in color for crimp. We will also need sleeve is P/N 937493XXX.20-42-12 page 21 for 20 gauge sa

、ys 001.Therefore we need 937493001 we will need a now Raychem gun with a PR13 head,20-42-12 page 23 refers.,A TK twisted shielded pair wire(20 gauge)with a damaged screen is found during an inspection. How would we repair it?Go to TK in the alphabetical index and this takes us to 20-53-22 page 5.Repa

、ir schedule depends on the area of A/C.2C,2D or 2C for this exercise.Page 13 illustrates for wire that has only damaged shield.Page 18 illustrates for wire with cut conductors.2CNow go to 20-53-29 page 5 for splice allocation table. This means we can splice and sleeve it as per 20-53-21 page 18.Use s

、plice RA 2322 or RK 2220.However splices RA and RK are“no stock”.What is equivalence?Next table on page 18 shows we can use a NSA936809RG0001 splice as equivalence for this repair and sleeve P/N.,ESPM EXERCISES,Continued.A TK twisted shielded pair wire(20 gauge)with a damaged screen is found during

、an inspection. How would we repair it?NSA936809RG0001 splice information can be found now by going to the NSA index and finding we now go to 20-43-12 and begin reading about splicing.Tables show us crimping tools and where to crimp.Shielding link can be made from CF22 as stated in center diagram for

、2C repair or use a screened sleeve P/N ABS0332 repair.Solder sleeves ED160 x 2 are needed for either.Ensure the heat shrink sleeve is correct type for temperature region of repair.,ESPM EXERCISES,ESPM EXERCISES,Where is it not permissible to put a splice? Can we do a permanent repair on EFCS wires wi

、th a splice? How many splices are permitted in a piece of wire? All these answers are found on 20-53-29 page 4.,ESPM EXERCISES,Using the Manual MethodWire exercise:2342-0006 needs to be replaced due to a broken cable.First we need to go to the AWL to find P/N,the type and the length.Master wire list-i

、ndex.234X from our wire number now tells us to go to 91-92-34.Now check effectivity on the far side of page 001-099,205-299.It is DK 24 length is 802 cm and in route 1M.WDM 23-42-02 refers.VP is mentioned. What does this mean?It goes thru a pressure bulkhead. Now go to ESPM for P/N of DK 24 wire suppl

、iers.,ESPM EXERCISES,What are the color code bands found on the sockets EN3155-003F2222?Go to EN index in ESPM.Find P/N EN3155-003FXXXX.First in 20-48-20 it directs us to 20-48-24.In 20-48-24 and on page 18 table we find F2222 and it shows GREEN_GREEN,ESPM EXERCISES,What is the P/N for the spring sp

、acer placed on the wires in a pressure seal?Look for spring. This does not help,so lets look for the pressure seal.On 20-43-42 page 11 and 12 shows the spring. So P/N will be NSA 934710XXX.Part code is E from figure and type code can be 20,23 or 24 depending on wire size.E.G.NSA 934710E23We have some

、in the tool box.,What is the P/N for the pink sleeving used to identify wire type WF.“S”in the alphabetical index. This gives us identification sleeves on 20-42-31 page 6 for part number NSA937201XXXXXX.From the table 04 is pink. Then go to page 8 for the wire WF shows when can use MA18XX or ME06XXThe

、refore the P/N is NSA937201MA1804 or NSA937201ME0604 for pink.,ESPM EXERCISES,What is the crimp tool to crimp NSA936501TA2206?Search NSA936501 in ESPM index. This gives 20-48-11.Scroll thru to page 16 and find item“B”this P/N.Scroll thru now to page 19 for remainder of P/N TA22XX.This then shows we n
