1、Structural analysis of Shanghai Himalaya Art Center Abstract: Zenda Himalayan Art Center is composed with some unique bionic(tree-imitating) buildings that are rarely built in China. Some analysis methods and seismic measurement based on the specialties of the structural design are introduced in the

They introduce construction technology of tube reinforced concrete structures with bionic space variation abnormal surface from location , formwork and support system selection and concrete construction. The structural design of the project could provide certain reference function to simil

3、ar projects in the future.Key words: bionic architecture; special shaped tube; fluid structures; seismic designDevelopment of building shows a complex contradictory forms of exercise. The basic purpose of the building - the use of space which has a function determines the materiality of the building

4、, must be tangible. The building material, structure became necessary means to achieve this purpose. The relationship between means and ends, the form and content of this as the origin, staggered linked together. While part of the building also need to take spiritual metaphysical aesthetic needs, th

6、are meters, 3 basements. Building above ground is composed of three parts, the office, Contemporary Art Center and a five-star hotel , with building length of 210m, a width of 60m. Among them, the office is eight-storey, roof structure elevation 61.5m; the five-star hotel is 17 floors, with roof str

7、ucture elevation 95.7m; Contemporary Art Center roof structure elevates 31.5m, part elevation of 37.1m.Shanghai Himalaya Art Center takes a reinforced concrete structure. The most notable is the unique design of the central special shaped tube, including Museum of Contemporary Art, Childrens Museum

8、of Art, the Museum of Art and experimental theater, an area more than twenty thousand square meters.This part of the unique organic shapes uses the optimization techniques structural evolution (ESO method) to design. This computer-aided method uses a computer to control all forms of irregular space

9、volume, automated form shape according to the conditions and mechanical design conditions and make adjustments. Costing a minimum of material to form a reasonable structure can be achieved by it.SEO methods ensure the implementation and use of the final design of the form completed on the constructi

10、on drawings. ESO method, as a design method, achieves the dual purpose of arts centers function features and spiritual aesthetic, is the bridge of the unity of the form and content.The final three-dimensional model by computer-aided design The final middle part , which is achieved combined with comp

11、uter-aided design, has been a bionic building which is similar to roots and its vertical components consists of special cylinder-shaped .Layout of planeElevations and SectionsIts plane is made by a 29 fluid, of which 23 belong to Art Center and hotels and office buildings both have three of them. 15、 whole load and lateral pressure. And in the case of a constant earthquake , put relative deformation between layers under control by 1/1000 . For smaller barrel-shaped tube, they were reviewed by the seismic requirements for columns at the same time.To reduce twisting of structure, the thickness of

16、 special shaped tube varies depending on the distribution of the stiffness of the plane, taking 220 to 600. 19、ngs ConclusionThe bionic building gradually been widely adopted in modern urban construction. The Shanghai Zenda Himalayas Art Center which has been finished, following the Birds Nest, Water Cube, is another architecture example of bionic art in our country. It has unique architectural style and the

20、 singular form, using group of reinforced concrete tube structure which surfaces is varied and shaped in space, fully expressing bionic image of clusters of roots. This bionic structures has not been reported in similar projects at home and abroad, and its successful completion shows that our level
