2、EU27,North America,Other,Soybean meal consumption in the EU and North America remains below levels of 5 yearsago,sharply contrasting the more than 30 percent growth in Asia and elsewhere over thesame period.Stronger growth in pork and poultry production outside of the EU and NorthAmerica accounts fo
3、r most of the difference.Increased availability of alternative feedingredients in the EU and North America has pushed soybean meal consumption lower.Growing biodiesel production in the EU has increased supplies of rapeseed meal,which issubstituting for soybean meal in feed rations.Growing ethanol pr
4、oduction in the UnitedStates has increased supplies of corn by-products,such as distillers dried grains,which issubstituting for soybean meal in the US and Mexico.In addition,expanded rapeseedproduction in Canada has increased the supply and use of rapeseed meal in North Americanfeed rations,further

7、ina totaled 22.1 milliontons,compared to 18.5 million a yearago.Total commitments to the world,500,U.S.Gulf Soybean Export Bids5 year Average(2003/04-2008/09)=$326,amounted to 38.4 million tons comparedto 33.7 million for the same period lastyear.TRADE CHANGES IN 2009/10Brazils soybean exports are u
8、p 1.0 million tons to 29.4 million in response to strongoverseas demand,mainly from China.Chinas soybean imports are boosted 1.0 million tons to a record 47.0 million inresponse to reportedly large shipments from South America.Canadas rapeseed exports are raised 0.5 million tons to 7.2 million suppo
9、rted bystrong demand,mainly from Japan and Pakistan.Malaysias palm oil imports are raised 0.4 million tons to 1.1 million supported bystrong demand in the refinery sector.Chinas soy oil imports are cut 0.3 million tons to 1.6 million as imports fromArgentina continue to be restricted.Rape oil and pa
