And, influenced by Europ

2、e and Japan or some other countries, many kinds of programs were springing up, including Draft reality show. But, since lacking experience, Chinese TV entertainment program, just copying the west styles, were beyond our values and taste. So, Draft reality show in China is always changing, but, it ju

3、st avoids some sensitive words and does not make use of outstanding person culture. That is to say, people watching the TV program learn little. But, in China, TV has a very important function, namely, education. However, in 2008, HUNAN TV issued a talk show called Day Day Up whose hosts are from di

4、fferent places in Asia to develop and expand Chinese culture and exchange different cultures. It has different styles like pallets and its guests are scientists as well as laborers, superstars as well as artists. People watching these programs not only can relax themselves but also learn many things

5、, especially our Chinese culture. More importantly, it is Chinese taste.STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Nowadays, almost everyone knows that Happy Campus and If You Are the One are entertainment programs. The mainstream Chinese entertainment program consists of two types: the live night gala and entertainment,

6、 and the night gala is the traditional eye-catcher, but the audience rating of night gala has dropped sharply in recent years. For example, the average time spent by audience on night gala is about 514 minutes in 2003, 268 minutes less then in 2002. The galas on memorial days and traditional holiday

7、s are leading the audience rating, and timing itself ensures the audience. The Spring Festival Gala of CCTV enjoys nationwide fame, and still keeps more than 30% of audience rating even if it is slightly dropped in recent years. In contrast to 1900s, the number of gala has steadily decreased because

8、 for one thing, audiences got bored about the program in which they could never participate, and for another, 1990s witnessed a spurt of different programs, which dispersed once concentrated audience group.Since 2001, the entertainment program in general has gained more and more popularity. That was

9、 due to the successful promotion of game show and quiz show. Especially in 2004, the average viewing time of entertainment program in 76 cities is 3707 minutes and the entertainment program accounts for 6.7% of all programs, which also reaches its highest point in recent years. Quiz show of CCTV-2 l

10、ike Happy Dictionary and Lucky 52 swept the screen and achieved instant success, and provincial stations soon followed suit, but as time goes by, the curiosity and focus of people on this type of program recedes due to the sheer clone, which makes the entire program look similar. The new round of co

11、mpetition will focus on common people with generous bonus and state-of-art quality. In addition, the entertainment news, which is championed by private producers program, is sprouting, and young people are crazy about this casual, stylish show which focuses on celebrities and trends.LITERATURE REVIE

12、W MA focuses on the analysis of the language used by the opening and the ending of Chinese talk shows. And this is done with the help of modern linguistic theories and methodology. The choice of Chinese talk shows as a topic of this English paper may appear to be, at the first sight, out of place (2

13、). There are indeed some difficulties in studying Chinese talk shows instead of English ones because of the need of translation, which may in turn lead to certain degree of distortion in meaning. This, however, will not impair our study, for all the processing and analyzing of the data will be based

14、 on the original texts. English translations of some transcripts are to be carefully done so that they go as closely as possible with the original ones.According to Song, sports are a sign of social civilization; people direct more and more attention to it. Therefore the report concerning sports in

15、newspaper also gains an increasing proportion. However, little research has been carried out to analyze its stylistic features (2). Based on the theories of modern stylistics, this study has attempted to limit the scope to the analysis of English sports news report. A corpus of about 102,500 words i

16、s built, and the materials are downloaded from the websites of The New York Times and The Washington Post. The most significant is that as a sub-variety of LOBA and BROWNA, ESNR presents certain different style, which tends to be less formal and more vivid.According to Jiang, postmodernism theorists

17、 realized the changes experienced by advanced capitalism, consumerism and media society which are determined by landscape and image, and fully developed a more generalized theory which made a breakthrough in the traditional boundary (5). By introducing popular culture to break the antagonism between

18、 elegant and vulgar art, they expanded popular cultures space of legality, and provide popular culture with theoretical background. Therefore, compared with the popular culture criticize theory in the early time, Postmodernisms embodies the turn of popular culture theorys study and evaluation. There

19、fore, we should have the correct evaluation and understanding of western contemporary Popular culture criticize Theorys development, well comprehend Popular cultures essence and characters, and analyze its positive function and negative influence, in order that we can get a overall understanding of

When Chinese culture from Mainstream culture

23、had held a leading post at first, to outstanding person culture took up the center station, the mass culture blotted out the sky and covered up the earth at last, the TV entertainment program had also experienced various change such as the development of program form, program idea renewal and the ch

24、ange of pattern. TV entertainment program development history is also that mass culture grows vigorously history.SIGINIFICANCEUnder the globalization, Day Day Up is innovating. Nowadays, our Chinese culture is affected by other countries more or less. So if it just stresses the traditional things, t

25、he entertainment program would not keep pace with the market. So Day Day Up introduces the foreign superstars who are still popular among China to guarantee the audience rating. Unlikely that in the old time, TV program should pay attention to the market system, because it not only keeps the TV prog

26、ram running, but reflects whether the audiences like it or not. The entertainment program as a kind of mass culture or popular culture can be defined as the culture of everyone in a society. Pop culture scholar Ray B. Browne defined it as cultural world around us, that is, our attitudes, habits, and

27、 actions: how we act and why we act; what we eat and wear; our buildings, roads, and means of travel; our entertainment and sports; our politics, religion, and medical practices; our beliefs and activities and what shapes and controls them. In other words, it is to us what water is to fish. Througho

28、ut history, every society has had its own popular culture. Most of todays popular culture is mass-produced and is disseminated through the mass media. Popular music, cheap paperback novels, soap operas, videocassette movies, and a myriad of advertised products from designer jeans to disposable razor

29、s make up our everyday environment.CONCLUSIONNowadays, TV news, with the addition of video, provides the most dramatic news coverage, with the power of the camera, viewers can actually see a hurricane raiding, soldiers falling in battle, congress debating an issue, the grisly aftermath of an acciden

30、t. Television is also very timely although, except for the biggest stories, broadcasters rarely interrupt regular programming to cover the news as its happening. Reports are confined to regular news programs. Each of the major networks broadcasts news through its local stations, and most local stati

31、ons broadcast their own news shows, too. Day Day Up is a good example of the trend of Chinese entertainment program.
