1、Finish Bona MegaProduct description:Bona Mega is a 1-component waterborne 100 % polyurethane finish, which contains about 5 % solvents. It is designed for the coating of the wooden floors in the heavy wear premises. Bona Mega is hardening using oxygen from the air as a second component, it has all p
2、erformances of a 2-component finish without requiring any mixing. Easy to use. Bona Mega is not yellowing the surface and characterizes with superb resistance to wear, scratches, scuff marks and household chemicals. The resistance to wear of Bona Mega is 5 mg/100 revolutions (SIS 923509).Note: some
3、types of wooden floors, e.g. the diamond pine, stabilized brown beech, can be coated only with solvent based primers. The same is with the light ash parquet, which is produced by some manufacturers in Lithuania, because it becomes red of water. It is recommended to use for such floors the primers, w
4、hich do not make floors red. Also Bona can not guarantee good adhesion of the finish with the primers and finishes of other producers. Preparation:The surface, which is to be coated, must be well sanded thus bare wood, dry and free from sanding dust, oil, wax and other contaminations. The best resul
5、t is obtained using disc sanding-buffing machine Bona Buffer together with Bona Scrad system or sandpaper or sanding disc/screen does not bigger than No. 120 for the last sanding. Application: The temperature of the room, floors and finish must not fall below + 13C during application and drying.Note
6、: Before coating or before decanting smaller amounts, the finish must be well shaken for 1 minute. Insert the supplied mesh filter, which is included to the finish, into the neck of the container. The finish is applying on evenly, the coat must be sufficient to spill over the surface, but it must be
7、 avoided the formation of puddles. When the first layer of Bona Mega will be dry, the surface has to be lightly sanded using Bona Scrad system. Aspiring to achieve the best results, all other layers of the finish, excluding the last one, also can be lightly sanded with Bona Scrad system. Before that
8、 the surface, which was coated with the finish, should be allowed to dry overnight.Recommended primers: Bona Prime Classic, Bona Prime Tempo, Bona Prime Intense (are applied using roller or brush designed for the waterborne finishes), Bona Gel (is applied using trowel).For the floors, where is the r
9、isk of sidebonding, e.g. endgrain floors, softwood planks and hardwood floors with underfloor heating, it is recommended to use primer Bona Prime Classic and Bona Prime Intense.Recommended methods of the application on the bare wood:A. 1 layer of Bona Prime Classic, Bona Prime Tempo, Bona Prime Inte
10、nse and 2-3 layers of Bona Mega;B. 3 layers of the primer Bona Gel and 2-3 layers of Bona Mega;C. 3-4 layers of Bona Mega.Factory pre-finished and previously finished floors:The surface which is to be coated must be absolutely dry. The floor which is to be coated must not have been treated with wax,
11、 polish or similar products previously. Bona cannot guarantee proper adhesion to finishes of other producers. The 2 % Bona Crosslinker can be added for the better adhesion of Bona Mega with the old finish. Note: the intercoat adhesion must be always checked prior to overcoating. Prepare a small area
12、 as described below and apply a coat of Bona Mega. After 3 days scratch the floor surface gently with a coin. If the finish stays firmly attached to the surface, the adhesion is satisfactory. Factory pre-finished floors for overcoating: Prior to application the floor must be treatedwith Bona Prep Sy
13、stem according to the instructions on the Prep label. Cover floors with 1-2 layers of Bona Mega with addition of 2 % Bona Crosslinker. Previously finished floors for overcoating: Prior to application the floor must be treated with Bona Prep System according to the instructions on the Prep label. Lig
14、htly sand the floor using Bona sanding screen No. 150. Cover floors with 1-2 layers of Bona Mega with addition of 2 % Bona Crosslinker.Note: Bona Mega should not be used on artificially coloured white or pastel coloured floors. Use instead Bona Traffic or Bona Flow.Bona Crosslinker mixing with finis
15、h: Shake Bona Crosslinker thoroughly prior to use. Determine the necessary amount of Bona Mega ir Bona Crosslinker. Dilute the necessary amount of Bona Crosslinker (2%) with an equal amount of water (proportion 1:1) and shake well. The mixture (Bona Crosslinker and water) should be mixed with the fi
16、nish within 15 minutes and it should be carefully stirred at once. The finish prepared in such way should be used within 8 hours. Application tools: Bona roller, Bona applicator or brush, which are designed for the waterborne finishes. Application rate: 1 l/8-10 m (120-100 g/ m) per coat.Drying time
17、: 2,5 - 3 hours at temperature + 200 C and R.H. 60 %. The floor can receive light foot traffic after 8 hours of the final application. The finish finally hardens after one week and it can be cleaned using damp cloth and a neutral or slightly alkaline cleaning agent, and carpets can be laid.Maintenan
18、ce:For frequent cleaning use vacuum cleaning or Bona Cleaning Pad. If it is needed floors can be cleaned using Bona Wood Floor Cleaner or Bona Parkett Cleaner. For removing more difficult dirt use the bigger concentration of Bona Parkett Cleaner or mineral spirit. For the refreshing of the floors us
19、e Bona Wood Floor Refresher or Bona Freshen Up. For the polish of the floors Bona Parkett Polish.Shelf life: 1 year from the date of production in unopened original container.The encoding of the date of production: the first and the second number year, the third and the fourth number the week of the
20、 year.Storage and transport:The temperature must not fall below +5C or exceed +25C during storage and transport. Package (including hardener):1 l and 5 l containers.Cleaning tools:Used tools can be cleaned with water. The acetone is used for the cleaning of the dried finish. Reclamation:Wastes and c
21、ontainers must be utilized following the acts of the Republic of Lithuania. Do not pour wastes into canalization.Additional information:Limit values of VOC in EU (subcategory 1.10): 140 g/l (2007) / 140 g/l (2010).
