6、eet children is showing a rising trend. The number of street children in China is quite large, and there are a lot of problems, and many of them are in a very dangerous environment. Solve the problem of street children is very necessary. A. Who are street childrenWho are street children? And specifi
7、cally, who are street children in China? How are they different from other children? The sudden recognition of children on the streets of towns and cities in the late 1980s and into the 1990s in China, as elsewhere, drew attention to perhaps their one defining characteristic their visibility. 8、ategory, the term street children is notoriously difficult to define. The phrase working children has often been included with street children, because most street children need to work in order to survive. Their work may include begging, stealing, selling, and it is when we begin to discuss these i
9、ssues further that the difficulties of drawing boundaries around which children are meant by street children, become increasingly apparent. Does the term mean that the children are homeless, that is with no shelter, and who sleep rough? Does it mean that they are separated from parents? Supposing th
10、e whole family is homeless and sleeps rough? Does it mean that they are separated from any adult care or control? In this paper , street children refers to the age low than 18 years, living away from home and leaving the guardian of the successive over 24 hours, loss of a reliable guarantee for the
11、basic survival and troubled teenagers and children. B. The status of street children Children are the future and hope of the motherland nation, since the founding of the party and government, our country has developed a series of laws, regulations and adopted many effective measures to protect the l
12、egitimate rights and interests of children. But in the process of development there are still many deficiencies. The problem of street children remains a serious social problem. The survey of Ministry of Civil Affairs displays that the total number of street children across the country is about 15 m
13、illion, and are increasing. From a gender perspective: street children, male, 70%, about 10.5 million people, women account for 30%, about 4.5 million people; from the source point of view: about 83% are from rural areas, from cities and towns are in 17 %; from the education point of view: 20% are i
14、lliterate, primary school education accounted for 65% ,junior high school level and above are 15%; from the age point of view: 7 years of age accounted for 10%, 8 - 12 years accounted for 23%, 13 - 15 years old accounted for 63%, 16-18 years of age accounted for 4%. The most of street children are f
15、orm Hunan, Sichuan, Henan, Shandong, Anhui, Guizhou, Guangxi, Yunnan, Xinjiang and other provinces. The causes of street childrenA. Economy reasonsIn our country there are about 592 poor counties and 14 600 million poor people. As Chinas reform and opening up, continuous development of economic, the

Because of natural disasters, life become more difficult, so many young people to make a living work outside, and when they cant find work, unable to live a normal life, they often choose to be

And some children are abandoned by their parents who didnt have enough money to raise them up, or themselves are minors with less knowledge. And some are lost, their parents had tried their best to find

And some street children prefer to vagabond rather than live in protection center or go home. Although there are so many difficulties, we should try our best to help them.

They are also our society part, should enjoy equal rights, so protection of street children is very important. The success of rescue the group is related t
38、o the embodiment of the superiority of our socialist system and directly related to the reality of human rights embodied in our country, and also related to our social harmony. Therefore, all levels of government should do well in rescuing and protecting street children. We need not only the efforts
39、 of the civil affairs departments, but also the attention and efforts of the judiciary, education, financial sector, health sector, control the generation source of street children, provide them for in timely and effective assistance. On the other hand the role of the community is also very importan
40、t. For example Jiang Lin does very well at this aspect. He used to be a tramp, has also been to prison, after release he began to assist street children , in May 2005, Jiang Lin founded the Sensen Orphanage which is a volunteers organization to help street children.
