1、The study of how to avoid speaking Chinglish as a English learner I.IntroductionChinglish is also called Chinese type English. It refers to the English which Chinese English learners are used with obvious Chinese characters, especially from the expression and grammar. Such as: Good good study ,day d

2、ay up and long time no see . With the crazy for learning English in China, English learners developed Chinglish because of the deep influence of Chinese culture and language habits. Unfortunately, as more and more Chinglish words were developed , more and more English learners were influenced badly

3、by that. They start to get puzzled and cant avoid speaking Chinglish. Now, almost every Chinese people are learning English as a second language , and even many companies make it a necessary condition for candidates. Then, from the research of Chinese linguist, it also shows that getting rid of Chin

4、glish is a must process for English learners in China. So, it is important and necessary for English learners to find ways to avoid speaking Chinglish. 2 rationale of the study As we know, English learners have been suffering from the influence of Chinglish for a long time, so the study on how to av

5、oid speaking Chinglish would give much help for English learners in China. There are three sources of motivation for this study. First of all, although speaking Chinglish has became a new fashion, even though few American are interested in it. it is still a product of Chinese and English which cant

6、be understood by most foreigners. So, some signs in public which are written in Chinglish are not only giving problems for foreigners to understand, but also giving them a bad impression of China. Secondly, China is the only country in the world with the most English learners, people pay much attent

7、ion to improve English. Research on Chinglish may save a lot of time for the English learners who have lost in Chinglish. Thirdly, the most important reason for the development of Chinglish is the different thinking style between East and West, so the study of avoiding speaking Chinglish is also a c

8、hange of thinking style , English learners should learn how to think as a Western person. It would be an improvement of thinking style and gives people a new way to look at the world. 3 objectives of the study and research questionsThe current study aims to give suggestions to English learners for h

9、elping them avoid speaking Chinglish. The study about suggestions would be carried out from four aspects: listening, writing, reading and speaking. The Study is to pursue the answers to the following research questions:1 What makes the development of Chinglish?2 How could you avoid speaking Chinglis

10、h from listening?3 How could you avoid speaking Chinglish from speaking?4 How could you avoid speaking Chinglish from reading?5 How could you avoid speaking Chinglish from writing?4 MethodologyThis paper combines the methods of qualitative and quantitative research. The participants are the best Eng

11、lish learners and their teachers in BUCT.Two instruments will be used to collect data are namely questionnaire and interview. Namely questionnaire is used to ask for advertise from the best English learners. Interviews are used to ask for help from teachers. Interviews would be a little different fo

12、r different teacher, these would be based on the courses which teachers have taught in order to give some specific suggestions.5Out lineThis thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the back ground information rationale of the study and the objectives and research questions to

13、be discussed in this thesis. Chapter two reviews the literature. Chapter three provides the methodology of this study.Data analysis and discussion are presented in Chapter four. In chapter five concludes the study by summing up findings,giving implications,limitations of the study and suggestions fo
