1、hitbeatstrikeknockhit、beat、strike、knock这四个动词都有“打”的意思，但用法不尽相同： 1.hit表示“有目标地打”，着重“打击”某一点。如： l He hit him on the face他打了他的脸。 也有“打击，袭击，打中”之意。如： l One of the stones hit the window. 有一块石头打中了窗户。 l An earthquake hit the district. 这个地区受到了地震的袭击。 2.beat表示“连续地打或拍”，有“殴打、击败”之意。如： l The landlord beat the farmhand
2、heavily. 地主毒打长工。 l That man was beaten until he was black and blue那个人被打得青一块、紫一块。 l The Iraq army was beaten. 伊拉克军队被打败了。 另外，beat还可表示心脏或脉搏等“跳动”。如： l He could feel his heart beating fast他能感到他的心跳快。 3.knock指敲打并伴有响声，表示“敲；打；撞击”之意时常与aton连用。如： l Someone is knocking at the door. 有人敲门。 l Listen！Who is knocking aton the door？听！谁在敲门呢？ 它还有“打倒、打翻”的意思 l He knocked the girl down. 他把那个女孩撞倒了。 4.strike表示突然地、一次性地“打；击”，一下一下地打或敲击，留下印记等。如： l She was struck dead by lightning她被雷电击死了。 l Strike while the iron is hot. 趁热打铁。 l The clock is striking 12. 钟在敲12点。
