However, the people who feel a sense of security are much happier than the former for a sense of security will help them escape dangers. So as long as people can received as much of the rig
3、ht sort of affection as they have need for, they can be general confident towards life. On one hand, the affection received or admiration causes the sense of security. For example, actors, speakers, preachers is to secure public admiration which is the diffused goodwill of a multitude. Their life wi
4、ll full of zest if they receive these approbation. The child is to accept the more concentrated affection of the parents. He will become adventurous because of the affection received. But the child who cant receive more affection , he will become timid and unadventurous. Whats more, the affection re
5、ceived should be robust not timid, desiring excellence in addition to safety on the childs part. Otherwise, he is probably worse off in the long run and always depends on wives in marriage because of the affection received by his timid or unduly possessive mother or nurse. On the other hand, affecti
6、on received has an essential biological purpose in adult life, namely parenthood. However, some people fail to obtain sex love because of defects of character produced by the previous misfortunes in childhood. It is more true for men than women for women love men for their character while men love w
7、omen for their appearance. Affection given has two forms: an expression of a zest for life and that of fear. The former is admirable, excellent and evoker hope for a new happiness. The latter is at most a consolation and encourage to escape from an old happiness. The former expression of a zest for
8、life is similar to what the man in a safe ship feels about the coast; the coast is a delight. The latter that of fear is similar to what a man in a wreckage ship feels; the coast is a shelter. The best type of affection is reciprocal affection which is one of the most important elements of real happ
9、iness. However ,there is another kind called bloodsucking. They extract the vitality from the other to make them proper. Their defects of nature associated with great ambition causes one sided view of happiness. They are anger or hatred produced by unhappiness in youth or injustices in later life or
10、 persecution mania. They miss the best that life has to offer. Affection received is not enough but to set free the affection given, and only where both exist equally strong does affection achieve its best possibility. However, there are obstacles to reciprocal affection from the world. The morality
11、 and worldly wisdom make people cautious so that they are slow to give admiration and bestow affection. All this discouraged generosity and adventurousness so that people become timid and anger against mankind. Caution in love is perhaps the most fatal to true happiness. So the author think that people should try to give themselves away to find the real affection.
