Culture Notes Benjamin Franklins Thirteen Virtues Benjamin Franklin (1706 -1790) was an inventor, scientist, a printer, political statesman, diplomat, an exemplary self-made m
9、an, a revolutionary hero, and of course, a writer. His achievements in all these roles were remarkable and may even be considered revolutionary. 1.Temperance. Eat not to dullness. Drink not to elevation. 2.Silence. Speak not but that may benefit others or yourself. Avoid trifling conversation. 3.Ord
10、er. Let all your things have their places. Let each part of your business have its time. 4.Resolution. Resolve to perform what you ought. Perform without fail what you resolve. 5.Frugality.
