Section A1 (1a-1c) Gaomiao Middle Schoole Gao Hongxia 一、Teaching aims and demands: 1. Language goals: 1) To grasp the new words:grow up, computer programmer, cook, docto

2、r, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist, 2)To learn the following sentence patterns: What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a computer programmer. How are you going to do that? Im going to study computer science. 3) Ability goals: To master the strcutrue “be going to

3、+do sth.”; To learn to express the events that will happen in the future 。 2. Emotion goals: To develop the students interest in English and build up great dream. 二、Teaching important and difficult points 1. Teaching key points: 1) To learn the structure “be going to do sth.”。 2) To learn to use the

4、 taget language in different situations. 2. Teaching difficult points: To use the taget language to express what to do in the future. 三、Teaching procedure Step1.Greeting and warming up. Step2.Lead-in. 1.To set the scene for the students to lead into the new words about jobs and the phrase “grow up”.

5、 For example: T:Look at the screen.Who is he? Ss:He is Yao Ming. T:What does he do? Ss:He is a basketball player. T:Very good. Now look at the two photos of Yao Ming. In Picture 1,he was very young.But in Picture 2,he is old. Thats to say,he grows up. Teach the phrase “grow up”.The students listen a

6、nd repeat. Teach the other words about jobs in the same way. 2.Have a competetion. Ask a few students to write down the words about jobs on the blackboard .Make sure the students understand the words about the jobs. Step3.Presentation. 1.Play a challenge game.Match the words about jobs with thier Ch

7、inese meaning.Finish 1a.Answers are vary. 2.Teach the main sentences by the picture in 1a.Explain the usage of “be going to do” to the students and work in pairs. A:What do you want to be when you grow up? B:I want to be a/an_. A:How are you going to do that? B:Im going to _. Step4.Listening . Liste

8、ning to the tape in 1b and finish it.Then check the answers with the students together. Step5.Pair work. Sample: A: What are you going to be when you grow up? B: Im going to be a basketball player. A: How are going to do that? B: Im going to practice basketball every day. Step6. Group work. Ask the

9、students to work in groups.Finish the following form. Make sure the students can use the taget language to express their own dreams. Name What does he/she want to be when he/she grows up? How is he/she going to do that? Step7.Summary and homework. Show some sencentes and exercises to consolidate the

10、 usage of “be going to do”.Ask the students to sum up the rule.At last,write a passage to tell your dream job. 四、Writing design What do you want to be when you grow up? Im going to study computer science. 五、Teaching thinking 本课的话题接近学生的生活实际,因此学生很容易接受。本课利用多媒体课件,借助姚明引入生词和句型的教学,极大的激起了学生的兴趣,然后通过听力活动、双人活动、调查等任务型活动形式让学生在完成一个个任务的基础上学会使用目标语be going to do sth.表达自己的理想,使教学内容由易到难,循序渐进,体现了以人为本的教学理念。
