1、托福作文写作范文详解ReadingInthepastcentury,thesteadygrowthofthehumanpopulationandthecorrespondingincreaseinagricultureandpesticideusehavecausedmuchharmtowildlifeintheUnitedStatesbirdsinparticular.Unfortunatelyforbirds,thesetrendsarelikelytocontinue,withtheresultthatthenumberofbirdsintheUnitedStateswillnecess
2、arilydecline.Firstzashumanpopulationsandsettlementscontinuetoexpand,birdsnaturalhabitatswillcontinuetodisappear.Forestszwetlands,andgrasslandswillgivewaytoevermorehomes,malls,andoffices.Asthetraditionalareassuitableforbirdskeepdecreasing,sowillthesizeofthebirdpopulationsthatdependonthosevanishinghab
3、itats.Second,agriculturalactivitiesmustincreasetokeeppacewiththegrowinghumanpopulation.Thegrowthofagriculturewillalsoresultinthefurtherdestructionofbirdhabitatsasmoreandmorewildernessareasareconvertedtoagriculturaluse.Asaresult,birdpopulationsinruralareaswillcontinuetodecline.Third,ashumansettlement
4、sexpandandagricultureincreases,theuseofchemicalpesticideswillalsoincrease.Pesticidesarepoisonsdesignedtokillagriculturalandhomegardenpestszsuchasinsects,butinevitably,pesticidesgetintothewaterandintothefoodchainforbirdswheretheycanharmbirds.Birdsthateatthepoisonedinsectsordrinkcontaminatedwatercandi
5、easaresult,andevenifpesticidesdonotkillbirdsoutright,theycanpreventthemfromreproducingsuccessfully.Sopesticideshavesignificantlycontributedtodeclinesinbirdpopulation,andbecausetherewillcontinuetobeaneedtocontrolagriculturalpestsinthefuture,thisdeclinewillcontinue.ListeningThepassageclamsthattherewil
