1、冠 词,articles,不定冠词的用法,1、表示同类事物中的“一”（强调时用one）或任何一个。,eg.I have a brother.,Please pass me a knife.,2、表示类别或用以概括事物的整体。,eg.A triangle has three sides.,3、表示某一个第一次提到或出现的事物。,eg.One morning an elephant was led down the road where they stood.,4、用在作表语的单数名词前，表示主语的职业、行业、宗教、身份。,eg.I am a teacher.,5、用在某些度量单位前，表示“每一”
2、,eg.He drove the car at 90 miles an hour.,总之，在表示泛指的单数可数名词前，不可不用冠词。,6、某些特殊用法：,1)用于姓氏前表示某个生疏的人（知其名而不知其人）。,eg.A Mr Johnson called you when you were out.,2)用于物质名词或抽象名词前表示“一种”、“一阵”、“一次”等。,eg.Long Jing is a well-known tea in China.,4)某些惯用法：,eg.Its a pity that,It is a shame to do,in a hurry,have a cold/pai

4、atural enemy of a cat.,=Dogs are natural enemies of cats.,3、表示“独一无二”：,eg.the sun/earth/moon/sky/world,4、序数词或形容词最高级前：,5、江河、海洋、山脉、群岛等地理名词前：,eg.the Pacific,the Urals,6、含有普通名词的专有名词：,eg.The Peoples Republic of China,7、在表示方位的名词之前：,eg.the east,the middle,8、乐器名称前：,eg.the piano,the violin,9、在形容词、分词前，使之名词化：,e
