3、uclear island components).The purpose of AFCEN is, in particular to:-draw up detailed and practical rules for the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and in-service inspection of components for nuclear islands used for power generating stations;-revise such rules on the basis of experi
4、ence, technological advances and changes in technology;-publish such rules or revisions thereto.The French design and construction rules for mechanical components of PWR nuclear Islands (RCC-M) published in Code form by AFCEN primarily apply to safety class components. This Code is used as a basis f
5、or contractual relations between Client and Supplier, in which case it shall be accompanied by a list of components to which the RCC-M applies.The rules given in the RCC-M draw on the achievements of development work undertaken in France and world-wide having resulted in French industrial practice.T
6、he rules for fabrication and examination given in the RCC-M are a description of current practice in the French nuclear industry based on its own nuclear and industrial experience.AFCEN shall not be held responsible for the use made of the texts and reports it publishes and the opinions it expresses
7、.NOTE TO THE USERThis document constitutes the first addendum to the June 2000 edition of the RCC-M. It is printed on yellow pages that have been pre-perforated for easy insertion into the June 2000 edition in addition to or in replacement of existing pages.Modification bars have been placed in the
8、margin to indicate where changes have been made, except in the case of new or entirely rewritten material, and for the tables in section A 1000.This addendum incorporates the alterations made necessary by modification sheets 891 to 940 inclusive, covering, in particular, the following:-taking into a
