1、模块十 产品说明书的翻译,朱卫飞,吴嬴碧,倪银萍,陈芳逸,Group 8,产品说明书，又称商品说明书或说明书，是生产商为销售及进一步宣传和说明其产品而附在产品包装内部或外部的一种宣传资料，通常可以翻译为Instruction Manual或 Description Manual(Operation Manual).另又称“操作与维修手册”（Operation and Service Manual）、“用户手册”（users guide)等。有的说明书只有产品性能、操作使用方法等内容，可称“产品使用手册”、“操作手册”（Operating Manual）。产品说明书作为一种特殊的实用文体，有其特
2、有的语言、结构和文体特征。,Introduction 1:,产品说明书主要用来说明产品的结构、功能、性状等各方面特征，并告诉客户如何正确使用所购物品，使顾客对产品有深一层的了解，以免因使用不当而造成不良后果，同时对今后产品的日常保养有一定的提示作用。一份好的产品说明书，不仅可以迅速激起人的购买欲望，而且可以起到良好的宣传广告作用。,Introduction 2:,产品说明书的内容,英语产品说明书一般由标题（包括副标题）和正文两大部分组成。有的说明书在最后还附注厂商的名称。说明书中往往包括下面的一些内容：1.产品的一般特征：安装（installation）、使用（usage）、维修（mainte
3、nance）。2.产品的具体特征（description）:注意事项（cautions）、基本原理（general principle）、结构（structure）、安装调整步骤（installation and adjustment）、使用（usage）、维修（maintenance）、故障排除（trouble shooting）、备件单（auxiliary parts）。,产品说明书的作用：,I、产品说明书的语言特征,III.产品说明书的结构特征,II.产品说明书的类别,IV.产品说明书的注意事项,产品说明书通常采用较完整的叙述文字，对产品的性能、功用和注意事项等进行较详细的说明。产品说明
4、书兼具多种文本功能，其独特的语篇功能决定了语言具有客观性、简明性和号召性等特点。,I、产品说明书的语言特征,1.客观性 产品说明书主要面对普通消费大众，产品性能、特点等，以便他们作出正确的选择并在购买后正确使用。这种语篇主要反映了生产厂家与消费者之间的交流关系。所以说明书的内容必须通俗易懂、实事求是(即有一说一，有二说二），对产品进行客观的描述，语气应客观冷静，不要妙笔生花，也不能使用过多的修饰手段或含有渲染、夸大成分。说明书通常需采用恰当准确的词汇如实地反映产品的真实情况。,Eg:,1.本品适宜于四季饮用，是老少皆宜的营养饮料，也是馈赠亲友之佳品。,2.它是夏季消暑保健之佳品。,A nour
