1、Lesson 25 Do the English speak English?,英国人讲的是英语吗？,1、Do the English speak English?English这里均为名词，第一个指“英国人”，前面要加the，表示一个群体，后面的动词必须用复数；第二个指“英语”，指语言时前面不加冠词。The English often talk about the weather.English还可以作形容词，表示“英格兰的，英国的，英国人的”等。与 English相似的单词有French，Chinese，Japanese 等。,1.n.铁路 _railway/railroad statio

7、面，一般遇到实义动词和非实义动词的时候,习惯放在两者之间Eg.I can not only speak Chinese but English as well.Not only you but also I will go there.主语并列(一般不这么用),as well 本身的含义是“也、又、还”If you go home tomorrow,Ill go as well.He lent me his pen,and his dictionary as well.,1.他不但很聪明，而且很勤奋（diligent）。He is not only clever but diligent as

10、teet的缩略逗号在地址里表示前者属于后者I am in class 1,Grade 1.在日期里,月和日之间不需要逗号，且月和日的顺序可互换，但在年代之前要有逗号，日期是以序数词出现的，月份一定要是英语字母,eg.Haidian District,BeiJing,China.the fourth of February,1998(February the fourth,1998),并列句(compound sentence):把两个或几个简单句用并列连词连接起来，则成为一个并列句。,I turned on the TV.I watched it.I turned on the TV and
11、watched it.I bought my sister a present.She didnt like it.I bought my sister a present,but she didnt like it.,常用并列连词coordinating conjunctions,平行并列连词:转折并列连词：因果并列连词:选择并列连词:,and,bothand,not only but also,neithernor,but,however,while,yet,for,so,or,eitheror,请用合适的并列连词把每组句子合并为一个并列句。1.He was tired.He went t
12、o bed.2.The child hid behind his mothers skirt.He was afraid of the dog.,He was tired,so he went to bed.,The child hid behind his mothers skirt,for he was afraid of the dog.,3.He made a promise.He didnt keep it.,He made a promise,but He didnt keep it.,4.Mary is opening the door.John is greeting her
13、guests.,Mary is opening the door,and John is greeting her guests.,5.句中either.or是连词,意为”或或,不是就是”Either my father or my mother cooks dinner on weekdays常见的结构有.1)连接并列主语,谓语和邻近的主语一致.（就近原则）Either mum or I wash clothes.,2)连结并列谓语或表语，状语 Either come in or go out.He is either a doctor or a teacher.You may come e
14、ither before class or after class.Either you stay or I do.,6.neithernor.,(既不也不)not only but also（不但而且)，连结两个主语时与either or一样 Neither you nor he is wrong Not only Li Ming but also his wife works in the USA.与以上三个不同的是，bothand（两着都）连结两个主语时，句中谓语动词应是复数形式My father has friends both at home and abroad.,Choose t
