8、upplierswhich: areawardedwithaproject,and areexternaltoHELLA(noHELLAsubsidiary),and doesnotusetheHELLAprocesses.Thenominatedsupplierisentirelyresponsibleforthequalityofdeliveriesfromhisownsub-supplierswithwhomtheyengage.Also,thesuppliermustensurethattherequirementsofthepresentdocumentandAD-Ol100:HEL

9、LAStandardDevelopmentRequirementsforSupplier(HSDRS111)documentarealsofulfilledbysub-suppliers.Altapplicableadditionaldocumentsarelistedinchapter7.1.1 DOCUMENTSTRUCTUREThisdocumentdescribesthestepsandthelogicaldevelopmentoftheprocessofcooperationwithasupplier,startingwithitsselectioninthepre-contract

10、ualphaseandfollowingitsdevelopmentwithinthecontractualframework.Thecurrentdocumentiscomposedaccordingtothefollowingstructure:HELLAGUIDINGPRINCIPLESFORSOFTWARESUPPLIERSdescribesthecriteriathatasuppliermustfulfilinordertobeselectedforapossibleupcomingcooperationwithHELLAexplainsthenecessityandstepsofd

11、evelopingasupplierexplainsthemonitoringofasupplierwithintheHELLAprojectsinwhichitisactiveSupplierRatingFollowingtheimplementationoftheactivitiesofSUPPLIEREVALUATION,SUPPLIERDEVELOPMENT(ifapplicable)andSUPPLIERMONITORING,asupplierratingisdetermined.Therelevanceandcorrespondingproceduresbywhichthisrat

12、ingisdeterminedaredescribedinChapter2:SupplierRating:determinationmethodandsignificance.Beforeawardingacontracttoasupplier,itscapabilitiesmustbereviewed.Thisreviewismadebasedonmultiplecriteria.Variousactivitieswhichmustbeperformed,aredescribedinChapter3:SupplierEvaluation:qualitycriteriaforsuppliern

13、omination.Onceacontracthasbeensuccessfullyawardedtoasupplier,thesupplierwillbepartofamonitoringprocesswithintheproject.Howthisprocessiscarriedout,theobligationsofthesupplierandtheimpactonhisratingaredescribedinChapter5:SupplierMonitoring.Theexceptionalconditionsinwhichthesuppliermaybepartofadevelopm

17、ICANCEDeterminingtheratingofasupplierwillalwaysplayanimportantroleinthecooperationbetweenthesupplierandHELLA.Thisprovidesanoverviewofthesuppliersdevelopment&qualityperformanceandprocesscapability.Theratingofasuppliercanbedetermined:a. Beforetheawardofacontractb. Duringprojectlifecycleofthedevelopmen

18、tprojectc. Duringthesuppliersdevelopmentprocessd. Onevent,atanytimewhenthesituationrequiresit(e.g.severeproblems,highfailurerates)a. BEFORETHEAWARDOFACONTRACTBeforeawardingcontractstoseriesanddevelopmentsuppliersforwhichHELLAdoesnothaveavalidqualityassessmentoftheirsoftwaredevelopmentprocess,asuppli

19、ercapabilityanalysismustbeperformed.ThisanalysistargetsthesoftwaredevelopmentprocessandisperformedduringtheSupplierEvaluationphase.Followingtheevaluationphase,thesupplierwillbecategorizedaninitialHELLAspecificrating(seeChapter3).Thefollowingwillbeconsideredwhenevaluatingthesupplierrating:- Developme

20、ntcommitmentaccordingtoHSDRS,requirements- Supplierself-assessmentAutomotiveSPICE(VDALiSa/SuSA)151- AutomotiveSPICE*AssessmentReport(fromsimilarpreviousprojects)- Potentialanalysisb. DURINGTHEDEVELOPMENTPROJECTTheSupplierMonitoringwillfocusontheprocessesthatwereidentifiedasbeinginscopeoftheprojectat

21、thetimethecontractwasawarded.Dependingonthedurationandcomplexityofthedevelopmentproject,theevaluationmethodswillbedefinedatthebeginningofthecontractaward(seeChapter5).Sinceinthedevelopmentprojecttherearecausalandtemporaldependenciesbetweentheprocesses,thesupplierratingwillbeupdatedduringtheprojectli

22、fecycle,consideringtheresultsoftheevaluations.Thus,thesupplierratingcanbeconfirmed,upgradedordowngraded.Methodsthatmaybeusedtoevaluatethesuppliersrating:- AutomotiveSPICEAssessment- TechnicalReview- QualityEvaluationc. DURINGTHESUPPLIERDEVELOPMENTPROCESSIfasupplierreceivesaProbationratingsubsequentt

23、otheevaluationprocess,itimpliesthatthesupplierhasagreedtofollowaSupplierDevelopmentProcess.Thismeansthatthesupplierundertakestocreateandimplementimprovementmeasurestoeliminatetheweaknessesidentified.ThisSupplierDevelopmentProcessmustbecoordinatedwithHELLAandmonitoredbyqualityresponsibles.Duringthisp

24、rocesstheratingofthesupplierwillbeupdatedaccordingtotheoutcomesoftheprogress.Methodsthatmaybeusedtoevaluatethesuppliersrating:6- Potentialanalysis- AUtoolspossibleusedduringtheDEVELOPMENTPROJECTd. ONEVENT/ATANYTIMEWHENTHESITUATIONREQUIRESITInsomecases,TechnicalReviewcanbeperformedatanystageofproject

25、development.Thisistriggeredbynonconformanceanddeviationsfromthespecificationatdeliverybutcanalsobeperformedasapreventivemeasure.TheresultobtainedafterTechnicalReviewiscategorizedanddisplayedbyacolorcodeindicator(seeChapter5).If,followingtheTechnicalReview,indicationsofnon-compliancecausedbythesuppli

26、erareidentifiedandthesearenotremediedwithinthetimeframeagreedwithHELLA,thesuppliersratingwillbedowngraded.TheratingofthesupplierssoftwarequalitycapabilitycanbeA,B,mB2,CworP.Thefollowingtableexplainsthecorrelationbetweentheratingbasedontheprocesscapabilitylevelsandtheawardingofacontract:SUPLIERRATING

27、DEMANDSONTHEPROCESSCAPABILITY1.EVELCLASSIFICATIONCONSEQUENCEAAllprocessesreachProcessCapabilityLevel3ThesupplierperformsatoptimumqualityFollowingtheevaluation,thecapabilityofthesuppliersprocessesprovedtobeoptimal.B1AllprocessesreachatleastProcessCapabilityLevel2Thesuppliermeetspartiallythequalitydem

28、andsTheevaluationdoesnotrevealanymajorweaknessesinthesuppliersprocessescapability,but(herearegapsassociatedWiththedefinedsetofstandardprocessesatorganizationslevel.B2AllprocsssreachatleastProcessCapabilityLevel1ThesuppliermeetsconditionallythequalitydemandsSupplierevaluationidentifiesprocessqualityw

29、eaknessesinoneormoreprocesses.Theseweaknessesrepresentapotentialrisktotheachievementofproductquality.Therefore,additionalcomplementaryimprovementmeasuresarerequiredtomitigatesuchpotentialrisks.Ifthisratingresultsfromthesupplierevaluationphase,thesuppliermustundertakeadevelopmentprocessinordertobeawa

30、rdedacontract.CAthastoneprocessh”ProcessCapabilityLevelOThesupplierisnotabletomeetthequalitydemandsSignificantweaknessesinprocessqualityareidentifiedinoneormoreprocesses.1. Iftheresultsoftheevaluationareavailablefromthesuppliersevaluationphase,thesupplierwillonlybeawardedacontractafteranewre-evaluat

31、ion(atintervalsofatleastoneyear)inwhichitdemonstratestheimprovementoftheprocessescapability.2. IftheCratingistheresultofthesuppliermonitoringwithinthedevelopmentproject(aratingdowngrade),thenthesuppliercarriesthepreviouslydefinedcontractualconsequences(Chapter6).Animprovementprogrammustbeimplemented

32、immediatelybythesuppliertoachievetherequiredprocesscapability.ThisprogramwillbemonitoredbyHELLAandare-evaluationwillbescheduled.Shouldtheresultsofthisre-evaluationalsorevealaCratingforthesupplier,thenthesupplierwillnolongerbecommissionedinthefuture.P-Probationrating:thsupplircanbusdconditionallyThis

33、ratingcanonlybeassignedasaresultofthesuppliersevaluationphase.TheratingP,reflectsthefactthatweaknesseshavebeenidentifiedinrelationtothedevelopmentprocesses.IfHELLAconsidersthatthesupplierhaskeycompetenciesandalsohasthepotentialtoimproveil$processes,thesupplierwillbeofferedtoundertakeadevelopmentproc

35、requirements.Dependingonthecomplianceratiothesupplierevaluationmightbecanceled,andsupplierCratingassignedaccordingly.Moreover,intheSUPPLIERMONITORINGphase,thesuppliersperformanceintheprojectistakenintoaccountwhendeterminingthesupplierrating.3ISUPPLIEREVALUATION:QUALITYCRITERIAFORSUPPLIERNOMINATIONBe

36、foresuccessfullyawardingacontracttoasupplier,HELLAwillensurethatthesuppliermeetsthenecessaryqualityrequirementstosuccessfullyperformtheassignedfuturetasks.Theanalysisistargetedonprocessescapability.Ifrequired,additionalassessmentswillalsobeconductedtoidentifyfunctionalsafetyandcybersecuritycharacter

37、istics.3.1 SUPPLIERCAPABILITYANALYSISTheprocesscapabilitywillbedeterminedasanoutcomebythefollowingactivities:1. thesupplierwillcommittocarryoutthedevelopmentinaccordancewiththerequirementsofHSDRS.2. thesupplierwillconductaself-evaluation(Supplierself-assessmentAutomotiveSPICE:SuSA)thatshouldbebasedo

38、narecentAutomotiveSPICEassessmentandacurrentjudgmentfortherequesteddevelopment.SuSAcanbedonebythesupplierfordevelopingprojects,orforprojectsalreadyinseriesproduction.Ifnoofficialassessmentisavailable,thesoftwareevaluationscarriedoutintherespectiveprojectsbytheprojectqualityassurancedepartmentinaccor

39、dancewithAutomotiveSPiCEcanserveasabasisforSuSA.3. thesuppliermustbeabletopresentavalidreport,concerninganASPICEassessment,issuedbyanaccreditedcertifyingcompany(3rdpartyaudit).Thisreportmustnotbeolderthantwoyears.4. Iftheoutcomesofthepreviousthreepointsdonotprovideaconclusivepictureofthesupplierspro

40、cessescapability,thePotentialAnalysisisusedasanadditionalqualificationtool.ThePotentialAnalysiswillfocusonevaluatingsupplierexperiencefromsimilarprojectsandthecapabilityofcoresoftwaredevelopmentprocesses.3.2 POTENTIALANALYSISThepotentialanalysisfocusesontheanalysisofthecoreprocesscapabilityaccording

41、toAutomotiveSPICE,namely:-SupportingProcessGroup: QualityAssurance ConfigurationManagement ProblemResolutionManagementandChangeRequestManagement ManagementandAcquisitionProcessGroup: ProjectManagement RiskManagement(ifapplicable) SupplierMonitoring(ifapplicable) SystemandSoftwareEngineeringProcessGr

42、oup: SoftwareRequirementsAnalysisSystemRequirementsAnalysis SoftwareArchitecturalDesignSystemArchitecturalDesign SoftwareDetailedDesignandUnitConstructionSystemIntegrationandIntegrationTest SoftwareUnitVerificationSystemQualificationTest SoftwareIntegrationandIntegrationTest SoftwareQualificationTes

43、tThepotentialanalysisisconductedbyHELLAassessorsatthesuppliersdevelopmentsiteor.inspecialcases,viaonlinevideoconference.Thedurationofapotentialanalysiscanbeamaximumofthreedaysifconductedonsite.Ifconductedonline,thedurationmayvary.Acommondatefortheperformingofthepotentialanalysisistobeagreedbetweenth

44、esupplierandHELLA.Inordertoavoiddelaysofthecontractawardprocess,thepotentialanalysismustbeacceptedwithinthenexttwoweeksfromthedecisiononitsnecessity.Non-acceptancemayresultinterminatingthecooperationwiththesupplierandassigningittotheCrating.3.3SUPPLIERINITIALRATING:RELEVANCEANDVALIDITYAftertheevalua

45、tionphase,thesuppliermayreceiveoneofthefollowingratings,dependingonthelevelofcapability: A-thesupplierperformsatoptimumquality BI-thesuppliermeetspartiallythequalitydemands B2-thesuppliermeetsconditionallythequalitydemands C-thesupplierisnotabletomeetthequalitydemands P-thesuppliercanbeusedcondition

46、allyTheratingofasupplierreceivedasaresultoftheevaluationphasedoesnotremainvalidduringthedevelopmentproject.Itcanberetained,upgradedordowngradeddependingontheoutcomeoftheprocesscapabilitylevels(seeChapter5).ThesupplierswhohavereceivedtheB2orPratingaftertheevaluationphasewillnotbeawardedacontract,ifth

47、erecognitionofthetargetagreementandthecoordinationofthedevelopmentprocessdonottakeplacebeforetheawarddecisionoratthelatestsixweeksafterthequalificationresultisannounced.Asexplainedabove(Table1),asupplierthathasreceivedaBIratingcanbeawardedacorrespondingprojectofitsprocesscapabilitylevels.Onlyifthesupplieracceptsatargetagreementbasedonanagreementofthedevelopmentprogram,thesuppliercanbeassignedwithaprojectthatexceedsthecapabilityofhisprocesses.4 ISUPPLIERDEVELOPMENTPROCESS:NECESSITYANDLIFECYCLESupplierDevelopmentProcessprovidesanarrayofapproachesforidentifyingnon-compliantsuppliersandi
