2、out where things are. II. Teaching important points: 1. New words. 2. How to talk about where things are. III. Teaching difficult points: 1. Prepositions of place: in, on, under. 2. Prepositional phrases: on the chair, under the radio, in the tape player IV. Teaching tool: computer,PPT V. Teaching p

3、rocedure: Step 1. Warming up: Use computer to show some pictures to review some things by asking questions: T: Whats this? S: It is a/an T: What are these? S: They are . This task must be very quick, because we should take more time to new words learning. Step2. Learning the new words: 1 (1)Show the

4、 6 pictures of the new words (the new words and pronunciations are besides the pictures). Teach the new words: radio, clock, tape, player, tape player, model, plane, model player. Ask Ss try to pronounce the new words by themselves first, then check their pronunciations by the tape. (2). Read the wo

5、rds for some times in order to remember the new words and can read the new words fluently. Step 3. New words exercise This is a game. The goal of this game is try to help Ss remember new words and make them be interested in English. Give Ss 3 minutes to look at the book of 1a, and then close their b

6、ooks. Each group compete with other groups. Then write down all the things in 1a without looking at the book, and then check which group win the game. Step4. Exercise: Listen, circle and write 1)Before listening, ask Ss to read the words in the box first, so that they can guess what kind of dialogue

7、s they will hear, that will help they decide which words they should circle. 2)Play the tape for the first time, and teacher ask: What things does Tom want? Ss answer, then check the answers. ( Section B, 2a. ) This part, we can ask some Ss to answer the questions, and other Ss check the answers. 3)

8、We will listen again. This task should write down the sentence about where Tommys things are. This task is very difficult for the Ss in Grade 7. Maybe they cant get the key information, or maybe they cant write down the answers quickly enough. So the teacher should ask Ss write down the key informat

9、ion on the exercise books, then make up new sentences by using the key information after listening. Its necessary to have a little stop when the key information appears. That will help the Ss get key information during listening. And after a period of time, they will have a good habit of getting key

10、 information. After listening, ask Ss to give the answers, and other Ss check answers. If most of the Ss are not sure if the answers are correct, we can listen again and check the answers. 4) After finishing 1c and 1d, turn to book to the listening materials, listen to the tape and read after it. Ss

11、 explain the difficulties. Then Ss read the dialogues again. 5)After that, discuss with Ss. T: Is Tom right to ask his mother to bring so many things to school for him? And from this topic lead Ss to think about this question: T: Is your room tidy? Do you often clean your room? By this task, teacher

12、 can lead Ss to have a good habit to make everything tidy. Step5. Ask and answer questions about the things in Toms room. Ask Ss work in pairs, then can talk about the things in Toms room or talk about the things in 1a. This task helps Ss to learn the new words again. And they will be more familiar with how 2 to talk about positions with in, under, on. Step 6. Summary Talk about the key words and sentences we learn this class. Step7. Homework: Use “in” “on” “under” to make 3 sentences. 3
