When Mr.Collins proposes to her, although her mother wants them to marry, she refuses, because she knows he is not the man who is suitable for her, and she doesnt love him, she doesnt want her happiness demolished by a man she doesnt love. I love this novel, and I admire the author and the characters in it. I love their courage and I respect their independence.
