3、y.,Access the Contributor Application using Excel,Before you can open a Contributor session in Excel,you must have the Excel Add-in installed on your machine.You must then log on to the Contributor application.After you log on,you see a graphical overview of all the areas you are responsible for,and
4、 the status of the data.,View and Enter Contributor Data in Excel,To view and enter data into the Contributor application,click an item in the tree on the left side of the Workflow window.If you are not the current owner,click the Edit button to start editing.,Click a tab at the bottom of the workbo
5、ok to view or enter data into a cube.,View and Enter Contributor Data in Excel(contd),When you open a contribution,you can view or enter data depending on your rights and the state of the data.After you open the contribution,the Excel workbook consists of two zones:Contributor zone:view,enter,and su
6、bmit data in the Contributor applicationExcel zone:insert graphs and calculations that link to or from data in the Contributor zone,Contributor zone,Excel zone,Edit Contributor Data in Excel,You can use standard Clipboard capabilities(for example,copy and paste)in either the Excel or Contributor zon
7、es of the workbook.You can type quick commands in the Contributor zone(for example,to copy data to the right)directly in cells to make data entry easier.If you type data into a calculated cell in the Contributor zone and press Enter,data in other cells that are part of the calculation are automatica
8、lly recalculated(breakback).If necessary,you can reset all data in all of the tabs(cubes)in the Contributor zone to the saved version.,Use Outgoing Formulas,You can use formulas to link data from your plan in the Contributor zone to cells in the Excel zone.As the Contributor data changes,the data in
9、 the linked Excel cells changes either manually or automatically,according to your Excel calculation option.,Contributor zone,Excel zone,Use Incoming Formulas,You can create formulas within the Contributor zone that are based on data in the Excel zone.You can then link data and calculations directly
10、 to your Contributor plan.When the data in the Excel zone changes,you can decide whether to update the formula data in the linked Contributor cells.,Run or delete Contributor Excel formulas,The data in cell C2 is derived from a value on another worksheet in the Excel zone.,Modify the Display of Cont
11、ributor Data in Excel,You can customize how data appears in the Contributor zone of the Excel workbook.For example,you can hide pages,rows and columns that contain only zeroes.You can also change the dimensions that you want to appear in the rows and columns.,Specify Update Options,When you enter da
12、ta or change the view of data in a Contributor cube,the Add-in for Excel will:always update all of the data in the Contributor plansynchronize shared page dimensions in all Contributor cubesrefresh the cells portrayed on worksheets not currently visible on the screenTo improve performance,you can ch
13、oose to manually synchronize page dimensions and refresh off-screen data.,Annotate Contributor Data in Excel,You can annotate your plan to explain something,or add links to related information.You can annotate cells,tabs,or the model if you have Edit,Review,or Submit rights to the e.List item that y
14、ou are working with.You can also browse annotations.,Submit and Review Contributor Data in Excel,After you enter data in the Contributor zone,you can save the data on the server and recalculate e.List items.Click the Submit button to submit the data to the reviewer.The e.List item that you are worki
15、ng on will be locked after you click the Submit button.,Work with Locally Saved Workbooks,You can save drafts of your plan locally,which allows you to work on the plan without being connected to the Contributor server.When you have completed your plan,you will need to rejoin your centralized plannin
16、g process by saving a version back to the server.As long as your Add-in for Excel session is open,you can reload your active data from some or all of the cubes back into your workbook.,Work with Templates,You can retain formatting,non-Contributor content(for example,charts),and ad-hoc calculations b
17、y saving the workbook as a template.When a user opens the template,they will still see the formatting and calculations that you created,but the workbook will be populated with their own data.,Customized formatting that will be saved in the template.,Work Offline in Excel,You can take plan data offli
