23、ndemicin2019,thescaleofusingICTinteachingactivitiesintheeducationindustryhasreachedanunprecedentedscale.AccordingtothelatestmonitoringandstatisticsofUNESCO,sincetheoutbreakofpandemicin2019,asofApril24th,2020,morethan191countrieshaveimplementednationwidesuspensionofclasses,andthenumberofstudentswhoha

24、vesuspendedclasseshasreached1.57billion,whichhasalmostquadrupledinthelast10days.Inaddition,severalcountrieshaveimplementedpartialsuspensionofclassestopreventorcontaintheCOVID-19epidemic.Inordertocopewiththespreadoftheepidemic,thegovernment,schoolsandenterpriseshavejoinedforcestoadoptthemeansofdistan

25、ceeducationtosolvetheproblemofstudents*learningandgrowthduringthesuspensionofclasses.ThelargestonlinelearningactivityinhumanhistorybeganinChina.OnFebruary9,2020,nearly200millionprimaryandmiddleschoolstudentsinChinastartedtheirnewsemesteronline.UntilthebeginningofMarch,morethanamonthaftertheimplement

26、ationoftheeducationpracticeofstoppingclassesandstudyinginChina,governmentsandschoolsallovertheworldalsoadopteddistanceeducationtechnologytocombattheepidemic.Startingfromthedeploymentofdistancelearningsolutions,detailinghowtosupportteachersandfamilies,andcombingthesemeasures,weseemanyshadowsofCopyfro

27、mChina.InAmerica,onlinelearningbeginswithhighereducation.Manywell-knownAmericanuniversitieshavealsoannouncedthesuspensionofclasses,includingHarvardUniversity,MassachusettsInstituteofTechnology,ColumbiaUniversity,PrincetonUniversity,newyorkUniversity,WashingtonUniversity,seattieuniversityUniversity,U

28、niversityofSouthernCaliforniaandStanfordUniversity.Theyhaveallindicatedthattheyhavepostedonlineteachingandexaminationnoticesontheirwebsites.OnMarch2nd,theMinistryofEducation,Culture,Sports,ScienceandTechnologyofJapanalsoreleasedanonlineeducationportaltoprovidelearningcontentsupportforstudentsinvario

29、usacademicsegments.AninternationalstudentstudyingforaPh.D.inJapantoldTitaniumMediathatcollegesanduniversitiesareonholidayatpresent,andtheschoolhasdelayedthestartofschoolfor20days,andcancelledtheopeningceremony.Only12studentswerearrangedtoattendthegraduationceremony.ItisobservedthatJapanisdistributin

30、glearningterminalsforonlineteachinginlocalprimaryandsecondaryschools.InAustralia,locatedinthesouthernhemisphere,afterdiscoveringtheconfirmedcases,somecollegesanduniversitiesbegantoannouncethesuspensionofclassesandstarttheonlineteachingmode.QueenslandUniversitywasthefirsttomakethedecisiontosuspendcla

31、sses.SomecoursesinthemaincampusofSydneyUniversitycancelledface-to-facelecturesandthegraduationceremonyinMay.InItaly,oneoftheareaswiththeworstepidemicsituationatthattime,theeducationdepartmentannouncedapackageplanof85millioneurostosupportdistancelearningfor8.5millionstudents,andmadeeffortstoimprovein

32、ternetaccessinremoteareasandprovidee-leamingequipmenttothepooreststudents.Sofar,alargenumberoflearnersfromallovertheworldhavejoinedtheranksofdistanceeducation(fortunately,Ihavealsobecomeoneofthem,andIamstudyingthroughthedistanceeducationmodetostriveforamastersdegree).However,suchalarge-scaleonlinele

33、arninghasencounteredmanydifficultiesandchallenges.Forexample,theproblemofcapacityexpansion,theemergenceofCatonphenomenon,theimbalanceofresources,theimpactofchangesinbasestationsandeducationalmodelsonlearnersandfamilies,andsoon.InChina,throughtheunremittingeffortsofthegovernmentandenterprises,manydif

34、ficultieshavebeenovercome,andfinally,onlineeducationhasbeensmoothlyandorderlycarriedoutalloverthecountry.Butdidonlineeducationbeginaftertheoutbreakofthepandemicin2019?Whatisthesituationlike?Accordingtothedataofthe44thStatisticalReportonChina,sInternetDevelopmentbyChinaInternetNetworkInformationCente

35、r,asofJune2019,thenumberofonlineeducationusersinChinareached232million,anincreaseof31.22millioncomparedwiththeendof2018,accountingfor27.20%ofallnetizens.Thenumberofonlineeducationusersinthewholeyearisexpectedtoreach259million.Withthefullopeningofthesecond-childpolicy,thecompetitivepressureofentering

36、ahigherschoolforemploymentisconstantlyincreasing,andthenumberofonlineeducationuserswhomeetusers*fragmentedlearningneedswillcontinuetogrow.ItisestimatedthatthenumberofonlineeducationusersinChinawillreach305millionin2020.By2016,thenumberofonlineeducationusersinChinawillreachover100million,andthenumber

37、willincreasebyabout50millioneveryyearafterthat.Fromthemarketsegmentofonlineeducation,thenumberofonlineeducationusersisincreasingfrom2014to2018.ItisestimatedthatthenumberofonlineeducationusersinK12inChinawillreach24.669millionin2019,accountingfor15%oftheK12groupinthatyear,andtheoverallproportionisnot
