Some people think it is necessary to make English the official language, but there are a lot of people considering the United States should not. In my opinion, using a universal language will make the country
3、more and more united. Here are some opinions of mine.The language is the best way to make people together. People who want to communicate need the universal language. Citizens who want to show their idea to the government need the universal language. And the government need a universal language to s
4、olicit the idea of citizens. Daniel Head, the press officer of U.S. English, said,there are 200 different languages in the United States, and there is not a common thing linking all the people. We will never know each other without some common things, so that we need something can make whole country
5、 together. The universal language is the best choice. English is a global language. According to the statistics, there are 75% TV programs are in English, 85% national organizations use English during work, 85% web pages are in English and 80% e-mails are written by English. As you can see, English
6、already becomes a global universal language. An American futurologist said,now, language is the most advantageous point for the United States. English is a global language and there are over ten professional us English. There are millions people speaking English around the world, which makes the tho
7、ughts, styles of work, inventions and goods of the United States well-knows in the whole world. In the future, world polities will be controlled by a country which have a lot of important information. They will use the control power in the Internet, the right to publish information and English, the
8、most powerful advantage, to achieve the goal, which the money and violence can not achieve. (from Chinese civil service exam)The United States is an immigrant country. So making English the official language also need the immigrants favor. There are a lot of immigrants in United States, like Chinese
9、, Mexican, Spanish, Jamaican and so on. So how do those people communicate with each other? Language is the best way. Almost every immigrant should speak English! For example, in Queens, New York City, as if speaking Chinese you can order anything in Chinese restaurants. In the Bronx, Mexican immigr
10、ants will barbecue in the park. In Prospect Park, Brooklyn, you can hear some beats from a drum when Jamaicans are gathering. And there are always many Russians on the beach. And according to the research, some Chinese immigrants consider studying English is duty for every immigrant. They think comi
11、ng to United States is a personal choice. If you want to have a good development in United States, the one and only thing is to blend into the society. One of the preconditions is learning English well. So in my opinion, making English the official language is important for immigrants. Here are 3 re
12、asons for agreeing English as the official language in the United States, but there are also many people who disagree with that. As I know, first, they think the government make an unnecessary move. Actually, the U.S government already asked the members use English as their official language during
13、work. The government members are only small proportion of the United States, we also need think about the citizens. The second reason is that there are some Americans disagree with his proposal. And it will bring some disagreements. Although some disputes caused may lead to destroying the peaceful s
14、ituation in U.S.A, 31 out of 50 states in the U.S already declare English as official language in law. According to a research, in U.S there are 84% of Americans agree to make English official language. Although, it difficult to make English as the official language of the United States in short time. Maybe in the future, through the government campaign and peoples changes in mind, they will agree to make English the official language.
