3、pilled all over the place.You can minimize that in advance by securing the things,but youre still going to have a lot of noise and things falling around,so you need to be prepared to walk through all that afterwards.,1 What should I expect during an earthquake?,First of all,if you are indoors when a
4、n earthquake happens,stay indoors.Dont move outside.Thats where people get injured from things falling off the building.When you are indoors,first thing you want to do is drop to the ground.Drop before the earthquake drops you.You are not likely going to be able to walk during an earthquake.You also
5、 want to get under something heavy if possible,like a desk or table,cover your head and get down low to make sure that you are protected from things that might be falling in your home.If you are not able to get under something,get next to an anterior wall,make yourself as small as possible,cover you

12、 be between the seats,between the aisles.Ensure that you are protected from large objects that are falling,like ceiling tiles or other objects that may be falling from the ceilings.Then they are more likely to hit the seats and not you.,8What should I do if I am in a high-rise building?,If youre in
13、a high-rise building,youre likely to feel the building swaying more than intense shaking.Its because the buildings are designed to sway rather than break,and the taller the building is,the more it may be swaying during an earthquake.You want to immediately move towards the center of the high-rise bu
14、ilding,towards an interior wall;drop,cover and hold on.You dont want to be near the windows of the building because as the buildings swaying,you could get thrown out.Drop,cover and hold on.Once the earthquake stops,proceed to the nearest exit and go down the stairs.Dont take the elevators.,9 What sh
