1、Unit 12 Fact and fantasyI教学内容分新 本单元的中心话题是“事实和幻想”,从科学数据、科幻小说谈到科学发明、太空旅行、未来世界和外太空生物等。无论是科幻故事还是科学探究都表现了人类对未知事物的好奇心和人类的丰富想象力及大胆的推究。事实上想象力、创造力是人类开拓新世界必不可少的条件。只要是在事实基础上的大胆设想,就有可能推动科技向前发展。 Warming up部分设计了两个部分。第一部分向同学们询问有关儒勒凡尔纳和他的主要作品:海底两万里和周游地球八十天,要求同学们了解有关作品的具体内容,阐明这些作品是科幻小说而并非科学事实,但是,作品中对于世界未来的预测却给了人们很大启
2、示;第二部分是对同学们掌握科学事实程度的检测,测试同学们是否了解这些通过许多科学家探索而得的科学事实,告诉同学们科学事实与科幻是有区别的。 Listening部分有两个练习,主要是三个孩子之间的对话,谈论天池湖怪物。第一部分的练习是让学生抓住一些要点:时间、地点、人物,并按要求填写所缺内容;第二部分是根据已有的事实对事情进行一定的推理,一万而再次深入分析事实,另一方面也培养了学生简单的逻辑推理能力,并通过五个问题具体拓展了推理的内容。 Speaking设计了由两人完成的对话活动。从语言训练的角度来说,主要是为了训练学生如何用一些固定的表达方式来表达信念和怀疑等用语本部分包括太空旅游、3098年
3、的生活、永葆青春和外来生物四个话题。这些对话可以引起学生的好奇心及培养学生进行科学探索的愿望。 Pre-reading通过三项重大发明的导入,要求同学对于相关事情进行讨论。这一讨论可以引导学生认识科学发展给人类生活带来的巨大变化,从而使学生更热情地投入到科学探索的事业中去。第三个问题主要是为了让学生了解关于地球的已知知识,是对接下来阅读中部分内容的铺垫。而第四个问题是让学生对课文进行预测,让学生做到心中有“底”,再进行阅读。 Reading介绍科幻小说之父儒勒凡尔纳和他的代表作。 (1)概写科幻小说之父儒勒凡尔纳和他的生平。 (2)介绍了海底两万里的主人公和主要事件。 (3)介绍了凡尔纳的第二
4、部作品地心游记。 Post-reading主要是分两大部分。一是对文中词汇的进一步巩固,并分析文中人物的特点;二是就阅读完海底探索后,要求学生根据已有的知识,对海底探索和太空探索对比。最后设计了一个开放性的题型,假设你要去探索一个深洞,你会带什么工具,你将会碰到的困难。这样的设计一方面让学生发挥了想象力,另一方面也让学生体会到科学探索的艰难。 Language study分两部分。一是巩固文中所学词汇,根据所给词汇的适当形式填空;二是学习语法知识:构词法。 Integrating skills集阅读和写作于一体。首先是阅读一篇关于博士造生物的故事。一位科研博士,因为对人体很感兴趣,进而想创造新
5、的生命。这是个虚构的故事,其实就是一个科幻小故事。其次根据阅读内容和书上给出的网状结构,要求学生按照文中内容,仿造一个造人的故事并写出具体过程。Tips提供了一些写作的方法,要求学生列举能想到的词汇,然后进行挑选以及把一些好的句子摘录在本子上。最后给学生介绍了写作中的要点:故事要原创,而情节要有特色。 checkpoint 12 一是归纳了本单元的语法知识构词法;二是找出课文中能帮你更好地理解文章、扩大知识面的词。II教学重点和难点1教学重点 (I)本单元的生词和短语。 (2)构词法的熟悉和掌握。 (3)了解儒勒凡尔纳和他的代表作。2教学难点 (I)分析海底两万里中的任务特点。 (2)学会如何
