11、dard Certified Reference Materials (ASCRMs) are available from Standards Australia in sets of four, and are designated ASCRM 011-11 A, B, C and D. Samples in each set are 4.0 mm nominal top size and approximately 2 kg mass. Each set is accompanied by a certificate.These samples represent a replaceme

15、20 Part 20: Higher rank coalHardgrove grindability index3 THE AUSTRALIAN REFERENCE MACHINEThe Australian reference machine is maintained by ACIRL Limited for the verification of standard reference samples for Hardgrove grindability determination.The bowl and race components were replaced with new co

16、mponents in December 1997. The parts being manufactured and certified in accordance with the requirements of AS 1038.20.4 CALIBRATION OF THE AUSTRALIAN REFERENCE MACHINEThe Australian reference machine was calibrated with a reference coal sample set supplied by the American Society for Testing and M

17、aterials, (ASTM 08-07), and subsequent check against (ASRM 011-10). The following types were used:(a) Sample A = Wilkie C

19、reek, (thermal coal) Qld. (b)Sample B = Hunter Valley (thermal coal), NSW.(c) Sample C = Blackwater Stewarton C (thermal coal), Qld. (d)Sample D = Norwich Park (coking coal), Qld.6 SAMPLE PREPARATIONApproximately 100 kg of each sample was prepared using the following procedure:(a) The coal was crush

20、ed to pass 4.0 mm, air dried, mixed and divided by rotary sample division into 48 subsamples of approximately 2 kg mass.(b) A 1 kg test portion was extracted from each of four subsamples of samples, A, B, C and D. These were prepared and analysed for Hardgrove grindability index in accordance with t

21、he requirements of AS 1038.20.7 REGRESSION EQUATION SELECTIONFor quality control purposes, the results of testing the ASTM reference coals were compared against those for the previous ASRM 011-10 reference coals. The comparison was deemed to be within an acceptable range, and the linear regression e

22、quation for the ASTM certified reference coal (Equation 1) was adopted for verification of the ASCRM 011-11 HGI reference coals (see Clause 8).2whereHGI=7.078x+13.935, R= 1.000. . .
